(formerly Gnosis Safe) is a secure multisig wallet solution.

A multisig (multiple-signature) wallet is a smart contract-based wallet that requires a predefined number of signatures (e.g., 2 out of 3) to approve transactions. This extra layer of security is especially useful for managing funds that need consensus from multiple parties.

For more details, visit or .

Thanks to our partner , Safe is now coming to the Chiliz Chain! See to connect your wallet and create a Safe account!

Below is a quick guide to help you create and manage a multisig wallet using Safe.

Creating a Multisig Wallet

  1. Go to Chiliz's .

  2. Click "Connect Wallet" and pick the supported wallet that you use, for instance MetaMask. Follow you're wallet's instructions to connect the two together.

  3. The "Create new Safe Account" page appears, with various steps:

  • Here are the sections:

    1. "Set up the Basics": Name your wallet and select the networks it should be active on. In our case, depending of your usage, you can choose either Chiliz Chain Mainnet for everyday operations, or Spicy Testnet if you need to test a dApp.

    2. "Signers and confirmations": Indicate the wallet addresses of each owner, and how many owner signatures are required to approve transactions (for instance, 2 out of 3).

    3. "Review": Make sure everything is in place! Also, choose when you'd like to pay the transaction fee (either right now or on your first interaction).

  1. Click "Create Account".

You are then redirected to your Chiliz Safe dashboard. Two steps are needed to complete the creation process:

  • Add CHZ to you Chiliz Safe wallet (in order to pay for gas fees).

    • See the "Depositing Funds" section below.

  • Activate the account:

    1. Click the "Activate now" button in your Chiliz Safe dashboard

    2. In the "Activate account" page that opens, click "Activate". If you have set a minimum threshold, you will need to have other owners to activate the account too.

    3. Confirm the transaction (and check its gas fees!) in the modal window that your connected wallet (eg. MetaMask) opens.

    4. After a couple of minutes, your dashboard should indicate that your Chiliz Safe account is activated.

Congratulations! You can now start using your Chiliz Safe multisig wallet!

Depositing / Receiving Funds

  • Also, clicking the "Receive" button (or the "Add funds" one if you're getting started) displays a modal window with a QR code and an address.

  1. Use your existing wallet (or a decentralized exchange) to send Chiliz Chain-compatible tokens to your Chiliz Safe address. For instance, using MetaMask:

    1. Copy the Safe address to the clipboard.

    2. Open MetaMask and click its "Send" button.

    3. Paste the address in MetaMask's "To" field. Be sure to remove the chzmainnet: prefix, otherwise you'll get a "No resolution for domain provided" error.

    4. Enter the amount of CHZ you want to deposit, and click MetaMask's "Continue" button.

    5. MetaMask displays one last screen where you can review your deposit: check both From: and To: addresses, and the amount! Also, make sure that you have enough CHZ in your MetaMask wallet to pay for the network fee ("gas fee"). Click "Confirm".

    6. MetaMask should display a notification once the transaction is confirmed.

    7. The tokens will show up in your Safe balance as soon the transaction is confirmed on Chiliz Chain.

Withdrawing / Sending Funds

To send CHZ from your Chiliz Safe account to any wallet that supports Chiliz Chain:

  1. Click the "Send" button from your Chiliz Safe dashboard.

  2. Copy the adress from your target wallet and paste it in the "Recipient address" field, next to the chzmainnet: prefix.

  3. Indicate the amount of CHZ that you want to send.

  4. Click the "Send" button.

  5. In the "Confirm transaction" screen that displays, review the amount, address and fees, and decide whether you want to execute the transaction or not.

    • Each owner of this Chiliz Safe wallet can decide to execute the transaction or not. You need to reach the chosen threshold in order for the transaction to go through.

  6. Click the "Execute" button.

  7. Confirm the transaction from your wallet.

  8. Chiliz Safe displays a summary page, allowing you to see where your transaction stands. You can click "Finish" whenever you want.

In the , locate and copy your Safe’s unique address (in the menu on the top right).
