Become a Validator
Participate in the Chiliz Chain's consensus mechanism by creating and validating blocks.
What is a validator?
Chiliz Chain is run by a Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism, which is primarily managed by two key roles:
the Validator, who is a critical part of the chain. The validators create and validate blocks in turns.
the Delegator, who allocates their CHZ to the validator's pool in order to participate in the governance of the chain and earn reward.
In Chiliz Chain, there can be a maximum of 11 block-creating validators. There can also be an unlimited amount of active validators which are not creating blocks, but are in the queue in case a block-creating validator goes down or gets "jailed".
Prerequisites to becoming a Chiliz Chain Validator
To become a validator on Chiliz Chain, you need to satisfy the below criteria:
You must be vetted and approved by the Chiliz Labs, which is our off-chain governance entity. Learn more about Chiliz Labs by sending an email to labs@chiliz.com.
You need to run your own validator node, or use a third-party service to run the node for you.
You need to stake a MINIMUM of 10 million CHZ.
Once the above is completed, you can register as a Validator on Chiliz Governance dApp.
